Tees Valley Energy Recovery Facility
- Based at Teesworks, Redcar
- A vital, frontline infrastructure project delivered through a 29-year public-private partnership (PPP)
- Giving seven partner councils - Darlington, Durham, Hartlepool, Middlesbrough, Newcastle, Redcar & Cleveland and Stockton full control over their non-recycled waste management
- Expected to be operational from 2030
- Once operational, will process around 450,000 tonnes of waste per year
- Will generate enough energy to power the equivalent of 60,000 homes
