Our Communities
We see community engagement as integral to our mission of building a circular, climate-positive economy.

Our outreach is not just about visibility but about fostering understanding of Viridor’s role in energy from waste, decarbonisation and the circular economy.
We promote awareness of the waste hierarchy and sustainability practices among young people and community groups.
Our services and operations help to create significant and sustained economic and partnership opportunities for people, contractors, suppliers and local communities in our service areas.
WeShare Community Fund

At Viridor, we know that strong communities are vital to our success.
Whether it’s individuals doing the right thing with their waste, local talent joining our workforce, or suppliers and partners helping us deliver essential services—our communities play a key role in everything we do.
That’s why we created the We Share Community Fund, investing £320,000 each year to support local projects across our communities that reflect our values.
Funding decisions are based on clear criteria including sustainability, community need, education and value for money.
Rooted in our purpose of building a world where nothing goes to waste, We Share is proudly driven by our people, supporting causes close to our sites and close to their hearts.
