13th January 2020
Viridor was delighted to welcome First Minister of Scotland Nicola Sturgeon to the Glasgow Recycling and Renewable Energy Centre (GRREC), which is located in her constituency.
The First Minister and Viridor discussed how the state-of-the-art facility diverts Glasgow’s waste from landfill, releases recyclable resources, and delivers a saving of 90,000 tonnes of CO² every year.
Ms Sturgeon met with apprentices and members of Viridor’s graduate scheme during her hour-long visit to the site, who talked enthusiastically to her about the work they do at the facility and details of their training and education.
The First Minister also heard about Viridor’s support for STEM education and the local economy.
