Viridor reinforces commitment to work with the Government on the EU’s Circular Economy package
Viridor welcomes the announcement that targets for sustainable waste management are to form a core component of the new Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) for 2030 that have been adopted by the United Nations (UN). As a leading UK recycling, resources and renewable energy company, Viridor looks forward to continuing to work with the British Government to ensure that the European Commission’s forthcoming Circular Economy package helps realise the Sustainable Development Goals put forward by the UN.
Viridor welcomes the goals contained within the new SDGs that make strong commitments towards cutting food waste by 2030; achieving the environmentally sound management of chemicals and all wastes by 2020; substantially reducing waste generation by prevention, reduction, recycling and reuse by 2030; and promoting sustainable public procurement practices.
