Quality Recycled Polymers
Viridor Polymer Recycling produces high quality recycled plastics in pellet and flake every year, offering key polymer types to the market:
- rPET Food Grade pellet in accordance with EFSA approved decontamination process
- rPET Flake Standard and Food Grade for sheet extrusion and thermoforming applications
- rHDPE Natural and rHDPE Self Coloured for bottle blowing
- rPP for injection moulding
HDPE Natural Pellet Deodorised (rHDPE)
HDPE bottles are recovered only from the post-consumer waste stream and then washed, granulated, contamination removed through density separation, dried, air classified, colour sorted, extruded and then melt filtered to remove remaining contaminants.
Viridor is also able to further treat the HDPE to remove the odours and residual fragrances from the initial application to allow these plastics to be used by brand owners for more demanding end applications.
HDPE is ideally suited for blow moulding and extrusion processes with the deodorised grade being used where odour free products are required.
Natural HDPE is also available in a low white grade.

HDPE Self-Coloured Pellet Deodorised (rHDPE)

Pet Flake Clear and Blue (rPET)
PET Clear and light blue bottles and trays that have been recovered from the post-consumer waste stream, intensively hot-washed, granulated, with contamination removed through density and magnetic separation, dried, air classified, colour and polymer sorted.
Finished flake is suited for use in the sheet extrusion and thermoforming industries and with further appropriate processing through Solid State Polymerisation (SSP), the resulting material can be used in the manufacture of new food grade packaging.
PET Flake is now also available to a Food Grade Standard compliant with EU Regulation 2022/1616.

Pet Food Grade Clear Pellet (rPET)
PET Clear and light blue bottles and trays that have been recovered from the post-consumer waste stream, intensively hot-washed, granulated, with contamination removed through density and magnetic separation, dried, air classified, colour and polymer sorted.
Following extrusion, the PET is then further treated to remove the odours and residual fragrances by means of sold state polycondensation (SSP).
The material is suitable for a wide range of processes including injection moulding, blow moulding and extrusion.
PET Pellet is also available as non-Food Grade.

PP Self-Coloured Pellet Deodorised (rPET)
Natural and colour PP bottles and trays that have been recovered from the post-consumer waste stream, washed, granulated, contamination removed t density separation, dried, air classified, extruded and melt filtered to remove remaining contaminants and treated to remove odorous emission.
This material is suitable for a wide range of processes including injection moulding and extrusion.

Viridor has been working to increase the range of end applications for all recycled Polymer grades by investing in the latest technologies.
