Please note our online webinars are currently replacing local business workshops for SMEs/SEs - see under our 'events' page.

Viridor recognises the importance of environmental education and has a strong track record of working with Glasgow’s universities, colleges, schools and communities – from university students on placements in advanced recycling technologies, to our innovative programmes promoting science, engineering and technology in Glasgow schools.

The GRREC is home to a dedicated on site education centre. This allows us to deliver real opportunities for Glasgow’s people – young and old - to visit, learn how their waste is being transformed, and gain knowledge on the dynamic world of resource management.

Viridor works with a range of young people in education.

From primary schools...

To secondary schools...

And beyond….

Work Experience placements 'Budding Engineers' putting theory into practice at the GRREC

Viridor are proud to be part of the GO4SET scheme. GO4SET is an annual competition involving secondary school pupils. It aims to develop knowledge and understanding of science, engineering and technology through project work. Please watch the below video to find out more.

Educational Activities

switching-on-minds.pngEngaging with students and community groups helps raise understanding of the need to bring resources to life.

Teaching children about recycling from a young age means that it is more likely to become normal behaviour in adulthood.

This is why we have produced a range of activities to help educate young people in a fun and meaningful way.
