National Recycling Week : Listening to local communities
12th September 2016
At the launch of National Recycling Week, Viridor teams across the UK are heading back to the front line of the war on waste to listen to local communities. Directors and senior managers from one of the UK’s leading recycling, resources and renewable energy companies are working at Household Waste Recycling Centres (HWRC’s) across the country.
In addition to helping the public, team members will be conducting a series of local surveys and talking to the public about their attitudes to recycling, why it matters and together how we can improve access to recycling services.
Paul Brown, Regional Managing Director for Viridor, said:
“On this National Recycling Week people will hear a lot about the future of recycling. We’re doing something different – getting into our communities and talking to people about their attitudes to the recycling and why it matters.
“More than that we’re listening to why they recycle, what would motivate them to do more and what barriers we need to work on to make recycling simpler. Recycling is a real UK success story but as we design new services its important that we pause and listen to the very people at the heart of that story.”
Results from the local recycling surveys will be published later this week.
