Is the recycling removed before the waste is taken to an ERF?

Each of the boroughs operates a separate recycling collection service for municipal waste. Once the recycling has been collected the remaining residual ‘black bag’ waste will be the source of feed stock for the ERF.                  Waste arriving at the facility will be regularly checked to ensure it is meeting the specification required to fuel the facility. Any material that does not meet the specification will be rejected and disposed of at an appropriate facility.
