Re: New England Quarry Resource Recovery Centre Proposals

We are writing to update you about our public information events which were held last week at the Smithaleigh Hotel. Over 100 people attended these events, where they were given a full update on the proposals, as well as the opportunity to meet with those involved in the proposed facility, ask questions and discuss any concerns.

The main issues that were raised by residents were:

-          concern over the detailed traffic solutions;

-           potential impacts on air quality and water quality of the river Yealm;

-          the visual impact;

-          choice of technology; and

-          any impact of the facility on current recycling services.

Please find enclosed a brief summary of updates on each of these key topics.

Over the past five months of our consultation we have received useful feedback from many local residents which is now helping to shape our proposals. We hope to submit our proposals (as a formal planning application) early in the New Year and continue to invite your feedback.

Once our proposals are submitted to the planning authority for consideration we will make them available on our website. This will include the full Environmental Impact Assessment which will provide detailed answers to many of your issues raised about transport, emissions and protection of the surrounding environment and wildlife.

In the meantime if you have any questions for our team please contact us through our website

Yours sincerely,
