Horton Landfill Site Enforcement Notice Appeal Decision

The Planning Inspectorate today dismissed an appeal by Viridor relating to an enforcement notice issued by the Environment Agency on 26 August 2009 (relating to odour management at Horton landfill site).
Viridor notes the decision of the Inspector. The company welcomes the fact that further clarity has been brought to technical issues in this area of permitting which apply at this site and nationally.
Viridor will duly consider the detail of the decision and whether it has any implications at this site.
The decision showed that Viridor complied fully with the original enforcement notice served and the company continues to operate the site in full compliance with the environmental permit.
