East Anglia’s leading recycling, renewable energy and waste management firm, Viridor is the main sponsor of the Wayland Agricultural Show, providing funding and waste collection. It takes place on Sunday 5 August at Brandon Road, Watton, IP25 6NG.
Running from 10am to 5pm in the beautiful Norfolk countryside, The Wayland Agricultural Show is a lovely country fair for all the family with livestock competitions, steam engines, horses of all sizes and much, much more.
On its 139th anniversary, show organisers are expecting around 15,000 visitors on Sunday and Viridor will be providing large containers and collection services to ensure that all waste and litter are removed from the site after the event to recover as much as possible for recycling and preventing valuable materials ending up in landfill.
This year, Viridor will also have an exhibition display where visitors can have a close look at the company’s modern waste and recycling collection vehicles and find out more about its zero waste to landfill services. Recycling games and activities for children including free of charge face painting and an opportunity to design their own cloth carrier bag will ensure everyone visiting the Viridor tent has a great green day out.
Last year, The Wayland Agricultural Society donated a total of £28,000 to local charities from proceedings of the show. Charities and clubs can apply for funds from the Wayland Agricultural Show Society online www.waylandshow.com/charitynews/
Communications Manager for Viridor, Victor Perez-Mares said: “As a key provider of recycling and waste services for businesses and councils in the East of England, we endeavour to support local fundraising and community initiatives in the area.
“The Wayland show is a fantastic initiative which not only raises funds for local causes but provides a great day out for local families with the vast range of activities and attractions. We’re proud to be part of such a long-established community initiative.”
