Recycling and waste management firm Viridor is throwing open its doors to visitors in September as part of the Heritage Open Days event organised by English Heritage.
Heritage Open Days celebrate England’s architecture and culture by allowing visitors free access to interesting properties not usually open to the public or those that would usually attract an entrance fee. It is England’s biggest and most popular voluntary cultural event and provides a unique opportunity to explore some of the hidden gems in English cities, towns and villages.
On Thursday 9th September from 11:00 – 19:00, Viridor’s Lean Quarry Landfill and Recycling Facility in Liskeard, Cornwall is inviting people to discover just what happens to their waste after the dustman has collected it.
Terry Farrant, Lean Quarry Manager, said: “This is a unique opportunity for anyone curious about what happens to waste and recycling once it’s collected to get a rare glimpse behind the scenes at one of our busiest sites.
“We know that people are increasingly interested in reducing the amount of waste that goes to landfill and hope that by coming and seeing what happens at our site they will go away inspired to recycle more and waste less.
The Lean Quarry experience lasts for up to two hours. Places are limited so book early to avoid disappointment by calling to pre-book your place call 01579 341 720 or emailing rdoney@viridor.co.uk
