Design and layout

The facility will include an integrated building, with different components of the development linked by underground pipes so that materials and gases are enclosed.

The layout of the integrated building ensures that its roller shutter doors are orientated away from commercial properties to the east.

Commercial vehicles will arrive at the doors via the access route to the south west of the integrated building. They will be able to reverse into the Reception Hall and the doors will automatically close shut.

An external maturation/stabilisation pad is located within close proximity to the roller shutter doors of the Maturation Hall, so that the movement of the waste is minimised.

The location of the Reception Hall and the positioning of the doors will help reduce noise and views of moving vehicles from those receptors to the east.
